Here are more than 40 ways to practice double stop scales. The examples here are in thirds, but any interval can be practiced with the same approach, in any key. (Octaves are especially important.) Playing the bottom note, then top note, then two together is helpful for intonation. Practicing slowly, repeating each double stop and slurring to the next is an excellent way to work on consistent vibrato. The many bowing variations are great to do in different bow strokes, both on and off the string. Of course, any of these choices can be combined with different rhythms, so I’m including the list of rhythms as well. The possibilities are pretty much unlimited.
